Mathematica Materials

Mathematica notebooks used in class can be found [here].

They are:

080118lecture.nb
This is the notebook with the numerical integration techniques that I worked through in class.
0801121EvaluateTrick.nb
This notebook shows a workaround that makes Mathematica finicky about plotting derivatives and antiderivatives.
080121-creatingplottinglists.nb
Shows how to create lists and visualize lists. Uses numerical approxiamtions of integrals, with changing number of slices, as an example.
080122lecture.nb
this notebook contains material created and shown in class on 1/22/08.
080125lecture.nb
this notebook contains the miscellaneous material created and shown in class on 1/25/08.
080319lecture-powerseries.nb
this notebook contains the code to help you create a polynomial approximation of a function, as shown in class on 3/19/08.

Mathematica notebooks for assignments can be found [here].

They are:

080121-listplothomework.nb
A homework assignment on the use of creating and visualizing lists.

Being able to contribute to the document requires a Google account. You can get one [here].

10.3 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 30, 32, 38, 44 (Use Polar Plot for 32-44), 54, 75

Short characterization of the families of multipetaled roses, r=a sin(b t) and r=a cos(b t). Groups should work together to understand the families (using Mathematica) and to talk about how to write-up their findings. Each individual must write-up findings themselves. The write-up must be typed in a word processor or Mathematica notebook. The write-up will be graded for completeness, for its precise use of language, and for economy of language.
