This is the application to participate in Truman State University's Mathematical Biology program's Research-focused Learning Communities in Mathematical Biology (RLC) program. Students and faculty who participate in this program will become part of an interdisciplinary group that shares an interest in using mathematics, statistical, and computational tools to illuminate important questions that arise in the life sciences. Participants will have access to research supply funds, travel funds, and stipends to pay for work done in the summer. Participants will be expected to

• participate in the Mathematical Biology Seminar (biweekly, Thursdays at 3:30pm),
• participate in program activities during the 10-week summer research program, and
• report the results of their team's work in a peer-reviewed fashion.

Positions on RLC interdisciplinary research teams are awarded through a competitive application process. A list of questions that appear on the application can be downloaded [here]. Participants will be selected and notification will be sent to applicants in mid-January.

• before they apply to the program, visit with potential faculty mentors to talk about the research projects that interest them, and
• compose the "Prior Research Experience" and "Personal Statement" portion of their application in a word processor or text editor and copy-and-paste it into the appropriate fields, below.
